This captivating series of curved steel sculptures draws inspiration from the hydrodynamic drawings of the legendary Leonardo DaVinci. DaVinci's keen observation of vortices and water formations in nature not only fascinated him but also influenced his later inventions, including his ground-breaking work in aviation.
During the project, we had the privilege of being given a tour of the airport precinct by our client, an experience that filled us with excitement and further ignited our creative vision. It was during this tour that we contemplated the fascinating connection between aviation and art - a link that is often overlooked.
Our aim became clear: to create an artistic representation that emphasizes the fact that aviation, a symbol of technological progress, was birthed from the imagination of an artist. By merging the realms of art and science, we sought to celebrate the visionary genius of DaVinci and bring attention to the inherent artistic spirit within technological advancements.
Using steel and intricate curved forms, we meticulously crafted each sculpture to embody the graceful and dynamic nature of flight. The swirling patterns and sinuous lines evoke the fluidity and energy of vortices found in nature, paying homage to DaVinci's hydrodynamic studies.
Through this series, we hope to inspire a sense of wonder, ignite curiosity, and foster a deeper appreciation for the transformative power of art and its enduring influence on human progress.
